I'm not sure I'd be entirely comfortable with a president who sports holy undies aka sacred undergarmets.

It's not just the undies, Mormonism has a wide number of beliefs that just sound downright zany.

Yep, underwear is just the beginning: Baptisms and Marriages for dead people. Mother and Father Gods. People living on other planets.
Though to be fair, Christians believe a man was swallowed by a whale, that a guy walked on water, changed water into wine and rose from the dead.

Mormons are taught that God the Father is now on a planet near the star Kolob with his wives having spiritual children. They also believe that Jesus and Lucifer (Satan) were once spirit brothers. And, at least in the past, the religion taught that Jesus was married to more than one wife. This may have been revised when the rules changed up. Not exactly mainstream ideas in my book.

In response to mike:Really?!?! On the star Kolob?!?! Doesn't anyone else think that sounds far-fetched. It sounds like something out of Star Trek to me.

Not a chance. Not even if wherever Mormons think bad people go after death freezes over.

In response to mike:You've got to be sh%^&ing me! I had no idea that these guys were so far out there. That seems less religion, more cult.

Yeah, even if you can get past the whole holy undergarmets, having your God live on star in a galaxy far away with his spirtitual wives, seems a bit far fetched.

Everyone is entitled to their religious beliefs. However, when they are this far out there, I don't want that person to be my president.

In response to Kat:Amen to that! Apparently the religion also teaches that Jesus roamed around the US talking to Indians.

I'll stick to a good old-fashioned Christian president, thank you very much. It's what our nation was founded on and has served us well so far.

In response to Bella:I couldn't agree more! No matter what anyone says, I don't really think that Mormons qualify as Christians.

You add in mysterious secret rites, practiced at their special mormon temples, and I have to pass.

In response to Peter:Yeah, anything that you need to keep secret from the rest of the world tends to make me a little nervous.

In response to Cass:But then again, if my church leader taught that my god was living on the planet Kolob, I might want to keep things under wraps. I mean really, it sounds kind of like a coneheads script.
